Everwood: The Complete Second Season – DVD Review

What really separates the series above other similarly themed shows are the relatable characters and the performances of the actors. Treat Williams and Gregory Smith will probably get the most praise, but this is really an ensemble drama. Every character has their time to shine and are important to the series.

The Hunger: The Complete First Season – DVD Review

The Hunger is a top notch horror anthology with creative cameramen and the appearance of high production values.

Rifftrax: Missile To The Moon – DVD Review

Fans of MST3K will be delighted that Nelson, Murphy, and Corbett have continued to make fun of movies. And for those like me who haven’t quite jumped onto the Rifftrax bandwagon just yet, this should convince you.

The SmarK DVD Rant for Family Guy: Volume 7

[A]s much of a fan of this show as I am, the demands on Seth MacFarlane must be stretching him really thin because this volume really starts to showcase how far this show has fallen lately.

The Lucille Ball Specials – DVD Review

Lucille Ball was a regular fixture on TV from 1951 to 1974. Her broadcasting dynasty included three different sitcoms (I Love Lucy, The Lucy Show and Here’s Lucy) with her playing a crazy redhead named Lucy. After wrapping up her last series, she made several hour-long specials featuring major stars. The Lucille Ball Specials brings [...]

Disney Animation Collection 6: The Reluctant Dragon – DVD Review

The real strength of this volume is that majority of the shorts all teach kids to “not judge a book by its cover”. Although, some the material in these shorts could go right over the heads of younger viewers.

Raising the Bar: The Complete First Season – DVD Review

At times, this series is eerily similar to The Practice. Then, other times, Raising the Bar is like a combination of all the past Steven Bochco shows as well. At least the cases that revolve around all the lawyer drama are somewhat interesting to watch.

Gladiator Makes Blu-ray Debut in September

This September, Paramount Home Entertainment unveils a new signature line of releases under the “Sapphire Series” label. Among the first to see a release on Blu-ray is Ridley Scott’s Gladiator. Are you not entertained?

Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience – Blu-ray Review

You really have to be of a certain age to enjoy Jonas Brothers: The 3D Concert Experience. This is more like a subpar version of last year’s Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: The Best of Both Worlds. Just insert the Jonas Brothers and away you go.

B.T.K. – DVD Review

The film is just downright awful making being bound and tortured probably more enjoyable then watching this for an hour and a half. Killing I can do without no matter what you put me through. HA…the irony here is that watching B.T.K. is torture. If you are bound while watching it though; I don’t wish to know about it.

The Secret Life of the American Teenager: Season Two – DVD Review

The Secret Life of the American Teenager is still one of the best teenage soap operas ever created, and it’s pretty much “must-watch” viewing for families with teenagers in them. It’s just a shame that this series is still on ABC FAMILY and not ABC.

Sony’s Paris 36 Arrives this August

It may not be Moulin Rouge but this French film comes to DVD this August courtesy of Sony Pictures Home Entertainment.

Rifftrax: House on Haunted Hill – DVD Review

The old theme song to Mystery Science Theater 3000 said that they’d “watch cheesy movies / the worst we can find / La! La! La!” Well, thanks to Rifftrax, they no longer have to limit themselves to only the bad ones.

Disney Animation Collection 4: The Tortoise and the Hare – DVD Review

In the Walt Disney Animation Collection: Classic Short Films – Volume 4, The Tortoise and the Hare is the featured animated short. This is the 1935 Oscar-winning short based on an Aesop fable that everyone knows by now, and where you learn that “slow and steady wins the race”.
